PHD Session

The SEBD Ph.D. session is a unique opportunity for Ph.D. students to present, discuss, and receive feedback on their research in a constructive atmosphere. Besides providing a forum that facilitates interactions among Ph.D. students, the session will be attended by prominent professors and researchers in the fields of database technology. These Mentors will participate actively, and contribute to the discussion with their feedback to students. The Ph.D. session has been located during the first day of the conference in order to foster further discussions and interactions between students and mentors in the following days.

We welcome submissions from Ph.D. students at any stage of their Ph.D. work. If you are in the early stages of your studies, the submission should clearly describe the problem focused on, explain the reason why it is important, detail why the existing solutions are not sufficient and give an outline of the new solutions that are pursued. If you are in the middle or close to complete your Ph.D. work, the submission should be more concrete in describing your contribution, but still in the context of the doctoral work.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must be single-author, and the name of the supervisor must be clearly marked (“supervised by”) on the paper, under the author’s name, by using the LNCS style described here LNCS . The paper should be no longer than 4 pages (including references) and should be formatted with the same rules as SEBD papers . It is fine if specific portions of the thesis work have been published or submitted to other venues for publication: the page limit is 4 pages, so this does not constitute a duplicate submission according to the policy of SEBD. Authors should submit their papers in PDF format through the EasyChair conference management system: EasyChair
